2005 IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation

Edinburough, Scotland, UK, September 2nd-5th 2005

Special Session on Evolvable Machines

The focus of this special session of IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation is on Evolvable Machines. Of special interest are contributions that describe new methods for artificial evolution of active  components and systems as well as reporting research progress in automatic and adaptive evolutionary machine design. Both theoretical papers and application papers are welcome.  The conference proceedings  will be published by IEEE. Extended version of the best papers will be considered for publication in a planned special issue of Journal of Universal Computer Science published by Springer.

The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Evolutionary hardware
  • Genetic system programming
  • Evolutionary robots
  • Experience of evolutionary machine design

The length of the contribution is limited to 6 IEEE format pages. Papers may only be submitted electronically in PDF or PS version to through CEC submission system . The time schedule is as follows:

Paper submission: April 11th., 2005
Extended to April 25th., 2005

Notification of acceptance: May 19th., 2005

Camera-ready: June 11th., 2005

This special session is organised in collaboration with the IEEE Working Group on Evolvable Hardware

CEC 2005 is sponsored and supported by the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers , IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, Institute of Electrical Engineers , and Evolutionary Programming Society.
