Quantum-Inspired Intelligent Systems

Call for Chapters

Nadia Nedjah, Leandro dos Santos Coelho, Luiza de Macedo Mourelle (Eds.)

Research on applying principles of quantum computing to improve the engineering of intelligent systems has been started since late 1990s. This emergent research field concentrates on studying on quantum computing that is characterized by certain principles of quantum mechanics such as standing waves, interference, quantum bits, coherence, superposition of states, and concept of interference, combined with computational intelligence or soft computing approaches, such as artificial neural networks, fuzzy systems, evolutionary computing, swarm intelligence, and hybrid soft computing methods.

For this book, we seek original contributions on any aspect related to soft computing combined with quantum computing systems. Applications of intelligent quantum computing to real-world system such as clustering, data mining, optimisation, robotics, scheduling, control systems, nonlinear identification systems, hardware design, game theory, planning and supply chain design are welcome. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Quantum-inspired fuzzy system for a classical computer
  • Quantum-inspired evolutionary computing system for a classical computer
  • Quantum-inspired neural network approaches
  • Quantum-inspired hybrid computational intelligence methodologies
  • Automatic programming techniques using soft computing and quantum computing

The time schedule for this publication is as follows:

  1. Manuscript submission: February 30, 2007 Extended March 30, 2007
  2. Authors Notification: June 1, 2007 Delayed to August 15th
  3. Camera-ready submission: November 30, 2007
If you intend to contribute to this book, please send an e-mail to nadia@eng.uerj.br informing the title of the chapter and its abstract.
